Useful information for our brides

Once you have chosen Loseley Park as your venue, Nicky Rooney or Carolyn Farrell, our Wedding Co-ordinators, are available to assist with your plans. Angela Batchelor is the Function Manager at JMK Classic Catering – our in-house caterers- and will help you plan your Reception.

What Happens When?

Planning your Civil Ceremony and your Reception

• Book venue & pay deposit (balance of venue hire due 6 months prior)
• Book Registrar for a Civil Ceremony (Guildford Registry Office)
• Our in-house caterers make contact & suggest making contact again 6 months prior to the wedding, once you have an idea of your catering requirements (numbers, menu choices, wines)
• A food & wine tasting will be arranged
• Deposit of 80% payable 2 months prior (catering only)
• A rehearsal can be arranged if required – just ask and we will schedule this in.
• If you are having your civil wedding with us we will call 2 weeks prior to run through details, find out your colour scheme for floral arrangement in Great Hall and other useful information
• Final numbers required 7 working days prior (catering only)
• Setting up the day before is sometimes possible but can only be confirmed on the Monday before the wedding – in case we have other events on.
• Our caterers are happy to put out favours, place name cards etc on the tables but would need them to be in envelopes per table, clearly marked.  They cannot provide name cards. You can arrange to drop things off a few days prior.
• Any items left after the reception will be put in the bridal room to be collected the next day, time to be confirmed with our caterers.
• Balance payable 7 working days after the event (catering only).

Suggested ReceptionTimetable based on a 2.00pm Civil Ceremony or arrival from church at 3.00pm

• 3.00pm Drinks Reception, lasting an hour and a half. (allow 15 minutes to walk back to the Tithe Barn from the gardens, if having drinks in gardens)
• 5.00pm Guests arrive at the barn (allow 30-45 minutes for a receiving line)
• Wedding Breakfast takes 2 hours including speeches but not including cutting the cake
• 7.00pm Coffee
• Break of about 30 minutes
• 7.45 – 8.00pm Arrival of evening guests
• 8.30pm Cutting of the cake (if not done previously) and First Dance
• 9.30pm Evening Buffet
• Music & dancing continues
• Bridal couple leave and Reception winds down
• 12.00am Bar closes & music finishes (11.30pm on Sundays & Bank Holidays)

Equipment available on request from JMK Classic Catering, our in-house caterers:

• Silver Cake stand, circular, 16.5 inches diameter, flat
• Silver Cake Stand, square, 18 inches, flat
• Silver Cake Knife
• Table number stands & numbers (A5 card size required if couple provide their own)
• Easel & A3 size frame for your seating plan
• Microphone available for hire @ £25
• Couples can bring their own ipod/mp3 player for background music in the barn.

Please note that there is no music system in Loseley House for a civil wedding.  You can bring your own ipod & docking station or have musicians play or use the grand piano - the choice is yours!

Call us or email for help if required – we have in-house suppliers – florist, disco, photography, chair covers & branded stationery …… and lots of ideas and experience.
