Furniture
For anyone with an interest in furniture and its history, Loseley House is a treasure trove and a walk through its rooms is a walk of constant surprises; from the perfectly preserved 16th century Wrangelschrank cabinet in the Drawing Room inlaid with pearwood, pinewood, rosewood beech and sycamore to the hand carved bed and pelmet in Sir More’s room depicting a boar hunt in full cry.
Nothing about the rooms or furniture at Loseley is staged, for every table, every chair, every cabinet, was originally here as working pieces of furniture – and so remain preserved in the domestic setting the original designers and craftsmen intended.
